Rabbi Wine did a great deal to help put organized Humanism on a solidly scholarly foundation. He contributed to the design of advanced education in Humanism. His periodical HUMANISTIC JUDAISM is one of the best in the movement. In 1969, Wine founded the Society for Humanistic Judaism in Michigan. The Society is now worldwide, and offers a Judaism free from the inherently superstitious assumptions of older branches.
It's a HUMANIST series, built on confidence in human qualities of courage, integrity, self-reliance. When the Klingons attack they don't pray - they use reason. There's no chaplain on Starship Enterprise.
