Yes - Gene Roddenberry was a Humanist, and "Star Trek" presents characters living according to Humanist values. Compassion, Respect for intelligence. Reliance on reason.

Susan Sackett was Gene Roddenberry's executive assistant. Gene Roddenberry is no longer alive, but Susan Sackett is the active and talented leader of the Humanist group in Phoenix, Arizona.
