Volunteer Opportunities in the Fellowship

Join the people who joined the Fellowship!  Without the "blood, sweat, and tears" of volunteers, the Fellowship would be unable to fulfill the organization's vision and meet our day-to-day goals.  Consider using your gifts and talents to advance the cause of Humanism in San Diego.  This organization will provide you with meaningful opportunities to exercise your current skill set and develop new abilities while making a positive contribution to your community.

Consider the following needs of the Fellowship and decide what you will do:

  • Graphic Designer:  Website design; Create and design promotional materials for events.

  • Newsletter Contributer:  Research and write articles for the HFSD web site and newsletter.

  • Webmaster for the HFSD website

  • Blog Manager:  Monitor the HFSD blog site, respond to blogs, post articles and “conversation starters”.

  • Event Coordinator:   Coordinate with Central Library personnel, HFSD leadership, and guest lecturers to insure events are setup and broken down per the needs of the lecturer, the requirements of the Library, and HFSD standards.

  • Book Club Leader:  Coordinate “neighborhood” book club meetings by responding to potential group members; finding and coordinating with local libraries, coffee shops, etc. for meeting locations; and disseminating information advertising the book club.  Read the book and lead the group discussion.

  • Discussion Group Leader:  Coordinate “neighborhood “discussion group by responding to potential group members; finding and coordinating with local libraries, coffee shops, etc. for meeting locations; and disseminating information advertising the group and discussion topic.  Prepare for and lead the group discussion.

  • Program Committee Member:  Assist with planning and coordinating the various lectures, outreach opportunities, and the social activities for the membership.

  • Collegiate representative:  Liaison with students and faculty in order to establish Humanist clubs on local college and university campuses, and/or provide support and encouragement to existing secular student organizations.

After choosing what appeals to you, contact us and let us know what you might like to do.  Call or e-mail:
